Rory Gallagher Gaa coach

Perhaps I’m wrong but my limited understanding is that he is a professional coach.
There is hardly a club left in the country not employing professional coach’s, be that fitness or S&C
I'd very surprised if that's the role if he was officially coming in under, and almost certainly so for high profile roles he's been linked with.

There's protocols in place to ensure that a Coach or Banisteoir isn't on payroll. You'll recall James McCarthy couldn't take a role as Cork coach given his development officer role with the county board.

We all know these guys are handsome fees, but it isn't formalised. Which makes it very interesting to see how they come at this in their legal action.

I’ve already set it out I feel. There are paid professional coaches in most clubs, all above board etc. Lots of bigger set ups have paid professional dieticians, sports psychologists etc. As far as I understand it Gallaghers profession is sports coach.
Only tonight someone I hadn’t seen in 6 months mentioned the sickening double standard of Hayes in the paper shaking hands with the president getting his All Star.

Wasn't there a Tipp football manager made a paid Director of Football whilst he was managing the senior team?

You are mixing things up maybe. It was a rule that a GDA couldn’t be involved in a Rebel Og team. It didn’t last long though as they couldn’t find enough volunteers to get involved on the coaching/selector side. I believe that GDAs were drafted in last minute.
I could be wrong in the above or my recollection not fully correct.

It's hard to find clear answers on it, but there's a headline here from 2009 summarising my understanding (I remember there being commentary on Pat O'Shea's day job at the time).

And one from 2015 on James McCarthy not being able to take up a coaching job with the footballers: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...gQFnoECCQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0sDDttGDaBz87lMvBeQFjr

That’s 10 years ago. They’d to change direction. A GDA was on the management team when Cork won the U21 All Ireland under Ricken.

It’s scary how Hayes is still able to wear the Limerick shirt. He’s a criminal, just shows how much pull mister MacManus has………
