No Parking = No City

The front of the QCO faces north. Thus the Parklet sees relatively little sun. One can spot the occasional damp arsed fanatic sitting there breathing in the often stalled traffic fumes. There are two Parking spots outside the QCO, so typically two vehicles park there for an hour or more. There is NO set down spot for those who might want to quickly shop there and go. NONE. The QCO laboriously trot out their own tables and chairs and barriers, then take them in at night. These are also rarely used. Who would want to sit basically in traffic, moving or stalled? Like many of the Green Delinitiatives there is no cost benefit analysis being done.
Traffic and all-day private car storage fan argues against polluting traffic and car parking.

Progress.......

DanDan wants "set down" spot outside every shop and takeaway in the city 😂
He will not walk anywhere.
He is scared of any inclement weather.
Refuses to wear a jacket
Refuses to carry an umbrella.
Ignores the 1,000's of public and private park spaces indoor/outdoor or street spaces around the city
Unable to use cheap public transport.
Wants to be able to park right outside City Hall (It has its own multi-storey car park and the Elysian Car Park across the road)
Wants to be able to park outside a burger joint on Washington Street just after the Grand Parade junction.

The traders do not want a dead parking space outside their shops etc.

Pack up your tables and chairs folks Dan Dan is coming..............

Drove in last night.
No street parking available.
Also the new Merchant's Quay arrangement needs to be better flagged from Parnell Square because a lot of late lane changes at junction by the bus station.

We are already at the point where driving in is becoming untenable. Luckily it was a Tuesday and the multi storeys had spaces.

Smart arse answers from Stacky and him repeating over and over about the merits of removing on street parking and installing cycling infrastructure without putting in place a light rail network is pure bunkem.

Say something about parking outside Brown Thomas , make another nonsense comparison with Oslo or put up another picture from the 80s

🙄

The umpteenth glossy brochure about jet packs by 2060 wont matter a jot as they continue to wreck the city centre through terrible ideology based planning

No, no, no never mind what you and others are experiencing first hand.

Clare Nash can put out tables for 12 weeks of the year.

All is well.

Do nothing until we put in light rail?

Interesting.

You are like some old lad arguing for horse drawn carriages or a fax machine.

The traders do not want the "on street parking" as Oliver Plunkett St etc is thriving.

You are right.

Driving is very close to being untenable with the fuel, environmental and running costs.

If everyone could drive into the city and parked wherever they liked the place would be choked (see the 1980's) public transport would not be viable and the city would be a car jammed disaster.

Your transport choice and your car storage responsibility.

More drivel

'You're like *insert irrelevant gibberish here*'.

Ive no issue with pedestrianation of Oliver Plunkett St (A-Haa) or other areas in the immediate city centre. Ive said this many times and you just continue about parking outside Keanes, etc. Try not behaving like a tool and respond to whats being said.

Removing on street parking en masse from areas within easy to moderate walking distance of the city centre is bad planning . You wont convince anyone otherwise as u are wrong.

Inserting extensive cycle infrastructure without the required improvements in public transport is terrible planning. They've created several choke points around the city creating congestion.

This isnt conjecture. The further planned removal of parking surrounding the city for bus corridors will make access to the city more problematic and more businesses will go under.

You keep with the patronising tunnel vision of defending terrible planning. Its all you bring to the table

The usual tired repetitive garbage.

You're really bringing people round to your point of view 🙄
