No Parking = No City

In a short few months the outdoor living holiday will be over. There will be several months of empty city centre, except for the growing number of junkies. More and more businesses will close permanently. More and more buildings will be boarded up adding to the current over 700. Cycle lanes should be clocked. Let's see which ones are being used and are they worth it. Parking prices in commercial facilities should be capped at the same rates as the small number of on street spots left. Businesses such as the Quay Coop should have the imposed Parklet removed and at least ONE set down spot reinstated.

Welcome to the Northern Hemisphere seasonality.

Shut down a small parklet just because someone wants to store their private car there?

Tell us how you get on.

The Quay Coop who are very happy with the parklet? G'wan ya spoofer.

"The parklet makes a welcome change from the congested traffic outside, and it’s a very pleasant place to sit and take in the summer sun! So please feel free to drop in and use it at your leisure."

Everybody is happy eating and drinking outside al fresco except Dan Dan as per usual who is waiting for the winter storms and business to "collapse" in a few months time just because he cannot park right outside their doors to keep them going with his patronage.

The front of the QCO faces north. Thus the Parklet sees relatively little sun. One can spot the occasional damp arsed fanatic sitting there breathing in the often stalled traffic fumes. There are two Parking spots outside the QCO, so typically two vehicles park there for an hour or more. There is NO set down spot for those who might want to quickly shop there and go. NONE. The QCO laboriously trot out their own tables and chairs and barriers, then take them in at night. These are also rarely used. Who would want to sit basically in traffic, moving or stalled? Like many of the Green Delinitiatives there is no cost benefit analysis being done.

Again as clearly missed it

So no need for the outraged crank routine on their behalf. As for a set down for a quick shop, lmfao, welcome to the future, suck it up.

Firstly, that's not what a set down spot is. What you are describing is a parking space.

Secondly, lots of people use that parklet. You either don't frequent the area at all or you are just lying about what you see when you do.

DanDan wants "set down" spot outside every shop and takeaway in the city 😂
