No Parking = No City

South Mall 50% of car parking spaces have been permanently removed. No more parking nose into the kerb. The ongoing removal of car parking spaces will see around 350 spaces less once the Morrisons Island and Fr Mathew Quay project starts.
We need to stop City Hall's absurd vendetta. The Dystopian 'plaza' on Grand Parade looks like something out of WW3 Movie. Black and Grey stone slabs, with those horrible lights. Graffiti and piss covered black stone 'seats'.

Yes, that is right.

Little wonder that the County Council are taking the Government to The High Court to get that Retail Village decision in Carrigtohill overruled.

The City Council have this notion that we are all going to turn in hippies and take up cycling or use the unreliable bus service we have.

Choice, let's have some transparency, where do you live and do you drive a car? Are you involved in any way with City Hall?

I drive a car and I know how to use a multi story car park and a park and ride, where I live is irrelevant and you thinking that anyone that disagrees with you and your X gang work for city hall is quite moronic.

Honesty

Where you live is very relevant. If it were say Bandon for instance, what would you know or care about those of us having our Parking removed? You would probably only come to the City on December 8th for your Christmas Shopping. Or if you live IN the City Centre you don't use your car. So yes, your nest location is germaine and your hiding it most likely disingenuous. Your naked hostility is boringly consistent. You are probably not accepted in the real world so like to pretend to be in company here. Regarding your only actual silly opinion about Car Parks. They are expensive and time consuming and anti shopping. Many of us enjoyed the freedom to nip into town, say from Douglas or Glanmire, Park near a particular shop, say The SoundStore. Do the English Market.... etc. etc. This used to cost €2. Now in the Grand Parade Q Park €6:30

Clearly you are hostile, so at least that is a bit of honesty showing. So I will engage with your silly opinion about Car Parks. They are expensive and time consuming. Many of us enjoyed the freedom to nip into town, say from Douglas or Glanmire, Park near a particular shop, say The SoundStore. Do the English Market.... etc. etc. This used to have minimal cost.

You can still do these amazing things, just park in one of the car parks and walk for 5 mins. Cars add nothing positive to a city

Hiding? Do you know what an anonymous forum is? As for silly, claiming people from Bandon only come to Cork City once a year is actually quite moronic. By the way one hour in Paul Street is €2.30, a parking disc is €2 for an hour, Q-park is €3.10

Fake

Q Park Grand Parade is €6:30 for two hours. Paul St. €4:60 There were plenty of central two hour on street parking zones, for €2.

Yes you are hiding the truth about where you live. Let's make it clear. Where do you live. How often do you bring your car to the City Centre during Office Hours.

It's not meant to be cheap to park in the city centre to encourage people to consider alternatives. Cork is a small city, park on the fringes and walk in

What positive things do cars contribute to cities such as Cork?
