Cork Footballers

What injury did Powter get ? i read a report it was a head injury ? Hes a great bit of stuff but just like Brian Hurley the injurys they have had ...but they recover and come back time and time again....and have won NOTHING some McGrath Cups and a division 3 title/ you would hope that these two and the like of Ian Maguire ...Mattie could win even a Muunster Championship medal...
Who knows it might happen some time great players great servants.

interesting point about havign a good lead not guaranteeing a win, in fact it may have the opposite effect in that teams are more inclined to be cautious and try to play keepball when ahead, wind is also going to be a bigger factor with the two pointers.

Watching the highlights on tg4 how was there a free given against Paul Walsh terrible decision let to a two pointer for Down ....and then Doyles point a clear two pointer shocking again ...just adds to the fustration...

How was Doyles 2 pointer not viewed by officials, he was closer to the 45 than to the 2 point arc, that is very frustrating for mgt and panel alike. First viewing of Paul Walsh's free, thought he was indecisive, jumped into opponent and fouled the ball, can see why that free was given. Will watch back again may be wrong there.

Harsh enough call to be fair CORK1990.....did delay slightly with pushing Brannigan, did not help he is so slight. On the turnover then, Still could have been tactically fouled around the 21, O' Callaghan should have fouled, easy with benefit of hindsight.

Cork missing a reliable freetaker, O' Driscoll not a nailed on free taker from the ground, he is doing a job for the team though. Our best player at the moment no doubt.

Westmeath 2 weeks away gives a chance to Hurley, Maguire and a few more. Should and have to win to win that now.

That was a harsh free, but if Walsh had immediately reset and dropped back a bit he could have slowed that attack down. A valuable lesson there that I hope is picked up on in their review.

They got a goal from that brutal wrong call by a Nordie ref.
Paul Walsh did nothing wrong. It was just another call by a ref that went horribly wrong for Cork.
It's not Cassidy's first offence either.

Rebel Boy your correct not having a proper senior intercounty free taker is just not on .....at the end of the day it cost us 2 crucial leauge pts on Sunday ....not good enough....to be fair Brian O Driscoll has been outstanding and is giving real leadership to the group ....buts hes not a top freetaker...
