Cork Footballers

I think both Roscommon and Monaghan have shown they are ahead of everyone in division 2 and I don’t expect that to change. Roscommon have had our number for years and have a good few players back who are scoring heavily, Westmeath are gone and Cavan would seem to be in trouble also, cork are as they were middling like Meath and down.
There is a real lack of depth to the panel as seen by the use or non use of subs today, only 4 subs and 2 with 5
Minutes left shows a lack of confidence especially when your getting over run

C103 Sunday Sport … intro music finishes. We are told it’s a busy day in Sport. Queue countless reminders that they are Cork’s number 1 supporter, highllights from Patricia Messenger, Daniel o Donnell flogging hearing aids and more shit music than I ever thought possible. Eventually we get a final update from Finbarr. God be with the days we had Paudie Palmer (RIP)

Game is much like Hurling now where no big lead will guarantee you a win.
Cork were very good in the first half today and some poor decisions from players and subs being poor cost them the game. They were very unlucky not to win with the last kick of the game
McDonnell 15 and Walsh 8 both excellent but were taken off with 7/8 minutes to go from some strange reason. Patrick Doyle was good in goals. Dan O Mahoney was solid at 3
Paul Walsh 10 and Taylor 7 very poor the second half. Forwards lived off scraps for a large part of the second half. I wouldn’t be extremely worried about the result as Cork never gave up and the game was there for the taking until the very end. Tough conditions away from home against a decent Down side.
