Cork Footballers

Our half forward line is the problem.
Lack of pace.
Lack of scoring threat.
No real playmaker
Or obvious ballwinner/linkman

If we found just one quality [Paddy Kelly type] player there we'd be motoring.

Very tough start on Sunday.
David Buckley might well be the man you are thinking of?
He did OK against Paul Murphy on Saturday so let's hope he's selected on Sunday.

Donegal will provide a stern test to see where our boys are at, would like to see cork have a go and play a more attacking style but can’t see this happening. James O Donoghue named Chris Og as one to watch this year, if we can get him the right ball he will be a huge threat for cork

we definitely are on the up the question is how far up.
Our panel is becoming stronger and we certainly are coached better.

The half forward line is an issue and against Derry last year we were shown up there.

But Corbett at the edge of the square is huge plus for us he was excellent against Derry last year if he can build on that performance it gives us a real target to build an attack around.

Donegal beat Kerry last year in their 1st game and it was down hill afterwards for them. Its very hard to win up there and we will be without O Mahony Sherlock and Hurley 3 players you are guaranteed will shoot on site.

Very true. None of the 3 are absolute certain automatic championship starters in my book any longer (Hurley due to injuries) .
it would be great if the players getting the chance step up in their absence.

Derry beat Donegal handily last week, and their defensive style is what most counties aspire to. It’s not pretty but gets results. Cork should get edge at midfield, and whilst Hurley and Sherlock are missing, it will give a few players a chance to step up. Clearly has done a good job with this team, and Sunday will be a stern test. I’m looking forward to attending game on Sunday, and feel confident we’ll get a result.
