I'd agree with this too. Cork city centre could certainly do with a large increase in Population/Residential numbers.

But i feel it's a case that if you put the infrastructure in place First (greened quays, designated for recreation ), it would encourage people to live there .

Fitzgeralds park is less than 10 min walk from city centre.

Bishop lucey park slap bang in the middle of the city centre.

2 parks by shandon at the bob and joans walk

Shalom park in jewtown in the east of city centre.marina further on down.

The lough to the south of the city centre.

The way these green fucking liberals carry on, you would swear that cork was a concrete jungle.

You ride a bike rather than drive..we get that.

Our quays do not need "greening". These knobjockeys need to get over themselves.

Cork has lots of trees and is quite a green city.....not a concrete jungle

Olly plunkett street is totally unsuitable for trees..i.e...way to narrow but they could add a few more to grande parade easily enough.

Cork isn't bad for trees except for the city island and the quays, if you look at Dublin's docklands they are very bare, we want to avoid this........actually we want to avoid most things that they have done in their docklands!!
