Cork Hurlers - Part 2

He’s picked now so let’s at least give him a chance. I’m dissapointed Eoin Downey misses out, and I’m perplexed why Rob has to switch wings when he’s flying at 7. Delighted for Sean Twomey, the guy is a warrior who has been totally underused over the last few years. The subs bench is reallly strong, no Dalton though I heard he was fit
there’s still undropable players in cork and it’s infuriating to see them get picked year in year out, at this stage they’re getting picked on name and previous YEARS performances. I’ve said it before but if the 3 OAP’s were youngfellas in their first year on the panel and showed the performances they have been over the league they’d be booted off fcuking panel by now!

I think great selection. Rebels Abu and best of luck to all the squad for Sunday and safe travels to all travelling. Love the start of championship, all that hope and expectation. Can’t wait.

I don’t agree with that at all, all 3 have done reasonably well in the league, nothing spectacular but ok, now is the time to turn it on.

2 of our best starting fowards are not playing on Sunday either in Robbie and Deccie and another one, Fitzy, is midfield

I think things will change as the games go on

  1. Patrick Collins (Ballinhassig)
  2. Ger Mellerick (Fr O’Neills)
  3. Damian Cahalane (St Finbarrs)
  4. Sean O’Donoghue (Inniscarra) Captain
  5. Robert Downey (Glen Rovers)
  6. Ciaran Joyce (Castlemartyr)
  7. Mark Coleman (Blarney)
  8. Tommy O’Connell (Midleton)
  9. Darragh Fitzgibbon (Charleville)
  10. Shane Barrett (Blarney)
  11. Conor Lehane (Midleton)
  12. Seamus Harnedy (St Itas)
  13. Alan Connolly (Blackrock)
  14. Sean Twomey (Courcey Rovers)
  15. Patrick Horgan (Glen Rovers)
  16. Brion Saunderson (Midleton)
  17. Eoin Downey (Glen Rovers)
  18. Niall O’Leary (Castlelyons)
  19. Tim O’Mahony (Newtownshandrum)
  20. Ethan Twomey (St Finbarrs)
  21. Luke Meade (Newcestown)
  22. Robbie O’Flynn (Erins Own)
  23. Brian Hayes (St Finbarrs)
  24. Brian Roche (Bride Rovers)
  25. Jack O’Connor (Sarsfields)
  26. Eoin Carey (Kilworth)
I'd say that starting 15 has the oldest average age in the Liam McCarthy.

Happy enough with the team, Pat Ryan talking during the week about the need to score points from the half back line, we have 3 good accurate strikers of the ball in there for Sunday, also depending on waterfords sweeper system we will possibly see GM move to the wing to free up Coleman as our sweeper
Great bench,

Will Sean Twomey move out to wing and have harnedy in full forward , Lehane was taking off in Croke Park when we lost to Kilkenny in John Meyler time , I cant understand how how hes starting center forward.Maybe he wont start there but just dont think he does enough in that position. Please god he has a stormer as ive time for for him as a hurler.
