Cork Footballers

Absolutely they should be, along with Tom Clancy, David Lowney and perhaps Joe Grimes. Unfortunately it won’t happen as management are unwilling to grasp the nettle and get rid a number of Douglas players who are intent on creating friction with the Clon lads.

A half back line of Liam Donovan, Powter (the only Douglas man I’d keep) and Sean white would be as good as anything in the country, couple that with Shanley and Clancy (maybe even Dan Peet) in the full back line and we’d really be motoring.
No full back line should be kevin O Donovan,Meehan and Daniel O Mahony,Half back line Liam O Donovan,Brian O Driscoll and Powter.

Brian ODriscoll wouldn’t lace Clancy’s boots, likewise OMahony is nowhere near Shanley.

Tbh, neither Omahony or Driscoll would make the Clon back 6.

It’s even more deluded you seem to get with this Clon v Douglas feud. You are the only person creating this narrative and players from both camps have confirmed this. You’re very clearly out of the loop Foxy 😂

Your idea of West Cork being the home of Cork football is for the history books. In recent years West Cork have contributed poorly to the Cork set-up becuause there is a demise in the quality even more than there is in the entire county.

Regarding the Clon players the White brothers have pulled their commitment from Cork as has Thomas Clancy. Liam O'Donovan has been injured for 2 years and not many seem to know about his rehabilitation except that he had completely different injuries. Your notion that Daniel O'Mahony is 'nowhere near' Maurice Shanley is bull, there is little between both players but Shanley has had more exposure to playing with Cork. The senior club factor and the issue of O'Mahony working in Dublin are the underlying reasons. O'Mahony is stronger and more aggressive and a big unit more suited to the full-back line or central positions. Two to three years is far fetching regarding Conor Daly making inter-county when he hasn't nailed down an U-20 start yet.

O’Mahony has done nothing of note for Cork, as opposed to Shanley who won a Munster title marking David Clifford. Nailed on no 3 for the next decade.

John Cleary should be willing to walk over hot coals to get some of the other names mentioned back in a red jersey.
