Cork Footballers

O’Mahony has done nothing of note for Cork, as opposed to Shanley who won a Munster title marking David Clifford. Nailed on no 3 for the next decade.

John Cleary should be willing to walk over hot coals to get some of the other names mentioned back in a red jersey.

Daniel O'Mahony is younger than Shanley and wasn't on the AI U-20 winning team, was only elevated to the senior panel in 2021 and played full-back v Limerick in championship. He wasn't available in 2022 due to work commitments in Dublin as I already stated.

When did Shanley win a Munster title marking David Clifford? Kevin Flahive held Clifford to a point from play in this years championship game on a team well beaten in the end. Why wasn't Shanley marking Clifford then if he had done so well on him before?

You really need to speak to your clubmates, the three you keep name checking all 'walked away' of their own accord, but then again you know that don't you - Shanley & O'Donovan stuck around and faced the music fair play to them, two really good lads by all accounts, maybe you should show their commitment some respect 🤷‍♂️

PS Ye had to park the bus, again, against a seriously understrength and subsequently relegated Newcestown to get a draw and avoid the drop yourselves ffs, but then again you know that too.

Keep deflecting, pity there's not a County in it, ye'd be shoe-ins 🏆

The term constructive dismissal springs to mind when talking about some of the Clon men not involved. Hopefully the new manager will lower the blade, make the necessary personnel changes and entice the Clon men back into the fold.

I presume you are endorsing young Kenneallys from Newcestowns addition to the Cork Senior set up after his 5 star/point display against ye, who was he marking again in 'your' inter county full back line???

Only 3 points from play I believe, marked Dan Peet who is one of the hottest prospects in Cork right now and who is lucky to have the 2 best fullbacks in the county alongside him to teach him the game.

It’s comparable to a young central midfielder emerging from La Masia and being able to learn from Xavi and Iniesta. What more could a young full back ask for?

With all due respect, none of the Clonakilty full back line have had to defend for the last 2 yrs, just keep shouting until everyone else on the team is back inside their 45, a very bad habit to be teaching young defenders, all they learn is to bluff and hide - it showed because anytime they didn't get set up fast enough they were exposed - Donnacha, O'Hare, Sherlock, the Hurleys, M Cronin & Kenneally all did well inside the bus in their respective games

That’s modern day football. Clon have the counter attacking element of their game plan perfected, unfortunately they were missing the key personnel needed to implement the game plan this year.

The key players in this counter attacking system are Liam ODonovan and Sean White. If we had both available in the group this year we would have won all 3 games and in all likelihood be facing the Barrs in 2 weeks.
