Bus Eireann

You've been eating the blue crayons again haven't you Otto.

You think the reason BE are finding it difficult to recruit drivers is because some of the stick you've been getting here, but at the same time you've absolutely no problem at all with someone saying "We also have no competition or a dedicated Cork Bus company as we are stuck with Bus Eireann who are just backward"
Are you in someway pissed off because I was not offended as you predicted you silly fool ?

The reasons are simple, full employment, dealing with entitled and rude people, assaults and the usual crap they have to deal with.
Here ScumMan, you have a buddy who is a driver, why don't you ask him ?

Stick I get here, I couldn't give a fock, but what it does portray is how you and others feel you can ridicule bus drivers.

I've explained it to you already Otto - the stick you get here doesn't reflect on bus drivers in general. You're just thick. That's on you and you alone

If the job isn't attractive enough to get in the requisite drivers/trainee drivers, then don't you think the terms and conditions should be improved?

You have to remember that you need fairly specific qualifications to be a bus driver, I.e. a driving licence, and not everyone had a driving licence.

In fact the pool of people with a driving licence is only going to get smaller with us all being told to ditch the car and use public transport.

If Bus Eireann removed the need for a driving licence then more people would be able to become bus drivers, thus solving the staffing problem.

It's a fairly simple fix.

I know it makes some of ye jealous that I have pals but there's not a whole lot I can do about that. My school pal bus driver's first name begins with J btw
So many that you would never think of asking them first before you spew your usual outraged scattergun stream of nonsense?

Again, have a discussion with your friend who actually works for Bus Eireann.

Come back to us then with the tails from the inside, you know, facts and stuff like that.

You silly old fool.

Ennissy are you taking the proverbial here ?

Do you really want someone who has never actually driven a vehicle to be responsible for driving one that is over 10 tons in weight and carrying up to 100 passengers ?

Meanwhile in the real world it is the Department of the Environment that is responsible for driver standards so silly things like working your way up through various licences is the normal way.
You start with a car and up you go.
There is also the annual driver CPC courses as well that have to he done by all HGV, Coach and Bus drivers.
