The obvious move was to put the hurling final replay on two weeks after the football final in my opinion though. Baffling..
Hard to blame them. A county final is a huge event. Players, managers and supporters will book work off the week after the game, people will be coming from abroad, players could have holidays booked etc etc.One look on twitter would tell you that but ya, they are fairly pissed off over it.
Absolutely agree, talking to one of the playing panel earlier and you hit the nail on the head of what there main issues are. A pile of ex players either retired, recently retired or away travelling are coming home for it. Players and management with a few days booked off after the game etc etcHard to blame them. The hurling replay was a new game to the future list so should have gone in two weeks after the football was played.
Also I think the Dohenys will be 5 or 6 weeks without a game between semi and final. Challenge games are impossible to get because most clubs are out. Seems a bit unfair that they’re punished for the fixtures of a club in another code.
Dohenys will beat Newcestown well. Newcestown can't keep falling over the right side of the. They probably haven't kicked a football wih a month. Dohenys have no problem getting practice games. They played UCC last week and have another game arranged for this week. Dohenys will be sharper , more energy and more focused and little chance of picking up injuries. So only one winner on November 11/12th. It has to be DohenysHard to blame them. A county final is a huge event. Newcestown might do their thing too.. Grind the opposition down, but I suspect they won’tDohenys will beat Newcestown well. Newcestown can't keep falling over the right side of the. Carrigtwohill probably had the same thinking in hurling when Newcestown were up to their neck in football gamesDohenys will beat Newcestown well. It’s very hard to beat the same team twice in championshipWrite Newcestown off at your peril. Dohenys have more firepower on their day but these hurling games of a really high intensity and importance will stand to Newcestown a lot more than a break with some challenge games will stand to Dohenys.
I know it’s a different code but they won’t be going into the game building it up too much or overthinking it. At this stage it’ll just be another game to them. Dohenys have such a long wait that they’ll be building it up and could get caught with stagefright IMO. Was only a point in it in the group.
