2023 Senior A football

1. Knocknagree 2. Kanturk 3. Skibb 4. Fermoy Knocknagree continue to impress and I was v impressed with Daniel O’Mahony for the seniors. Kanturk will physically match any team in the county and if they struggle in the hurling they will rlly be in with a chance. Fermoy I think r a small bit behind the other 3 but that's not to say I'd bet against them upsetting 1 of the others

1. Beal Atha 2. Clyda 3. Newmarket 4. Kiskeam
Think if Beal Atha r going 2 do something it has to be now. Aging team and not much coming through. Clyda will be there or thereabouts come the business end no doubt and I think the extra q final game would do them the world of good. Its close between the last 2 but meehans injury will prove too much for kiskeam

1. Newcestown 2. Dohenys 3. Ilen 4. Bishopstown Newcestown r arguably the best team in the grade but dohenys will give them a test but I think they'll still get over the line. Ilen and bishopstown are the 2 weakest teams imo, think ilen edge it in the unofficial relegation battle Champs: knocknagree Relegated: bishopstown

Kanturk v Fermoy
Knocknagree v ODR
Newcestown
v Dohenys
Clyda v BAG
Newmarket v Kiskeam
Bishopstown v Ilen Rovers

Fixtures for this weekend. My predictions in bold.

Kanturk v Fermoy
Knocknagree v ODR -Draw
Newcestown v Dohenys
Cylda v BAG
Newmarket
v Kiskeam
Bishopstown v Ilen Rovers

Kanturk v Fermoy - Kanturk with a shocking league. Won’t be much between them. Draw.
Knocknagree v ODR - I think Knocknagree are overrated. Fancy ODR
Newcestown v Dohenys - Newcestown favourites to win it out in my opinion.
Clyda v BAG - Clyda should have too much.
Newmarket v Kiskeam - Local derby but Div 1 against a Div 4 team.
Bishopstown v Ilen Rovers - Ilen only hanging on in the grade but both teams will eye this one as their game to win. Draw

Kanturk v Fermoy - Kanturk had a poor league but had a long year last year so probably looking for a late run at it. Fermoy had a decent league. They were poor in Championship last year so will be looking to start well. I fancy them to win a tight one here. Knocknagree v Skibb - Knocknagree had a great run last year. Anthony O'Connor is back this year which adds to their attack. Good league campaign and promoted to Division 2. Skibb are very much in sort of transition. Capable of running up a score if Kevin Davis is on fire but i think Knock will win by 2+ here barring Skibb getting 3 goals or more. Newcestown v Dohenys - Both teams had good leagues. Dohenys winning Div 3 and Newcestown promoted to Div 1. Hard to make anyone big favourites but given they should be fresh, the more seasoned Newcestown lads might shade it if they have a clean bill of health. Clyda v Ballingeary - Clyda were agonisingly close to a final last year and will rue the late collapse against Knocknagree. They have enough to win this but if in any way off Ballingeary are dangerous. They Newmarket v Kiskeam - Local derbies are always tight, tense affairs and expect no different here. Kiskeam might be on the wane a bit but I think they have enough to get over the line here. Bishopstown v Ilen Rovers - Both teams have slipped a bit in recent years. Hard to know where either are at really. Both had spurts in championship last year but also bad defeats. If Ilen had everyone fit you'd nearly fancy them but hard to know really here.
