Kanturk v Fermoy - Kanturk had a poor league but had a long year last year so probably looking for a late run at it. Fermoy had a decent league. They were poor in Championship last year so will be looking to start well. I fancy them to win a tight one here. Knocknagree v Skibb - Knocknagree had a great run last year. Anthony O'Connor is back this year which adds to their attack. Good league campaign and promoted to Division 2. Skibb are very much in sort of transition. Capable of running up a score if Kevin Davis is on fire but i think Knock will win by 2+ here barring Skibb getting 3 goals or more. Newcestown v Dohenys - Both teams had good leagues. Dohenys winning Div 3 and Newcestown promoted to Div 1. Hard to make anyone big favourites but given they should be fresh, the more seasoned Newcestown lads might shade it if they have a clean bill of health. Clyda v Ballingeary - Clyda were agonisingly close to a final last year and will rue the late collapse against Knocknagree. They have enough to win this but if in any way off Ballingeary are dangerous. They Newmarket v Kiskeam - Local derbies are always tight, tense affairs and expect no different here. Kiskeam might be on the wane a bit but I think they have enough to get over the line here. Bishopstown v Ilen Rovers - Both teams have slipped a bit in recent years. Hard to know where either are at really. Both had spurts in championship last year but also bad defeats. If Ilen had everyone fit you'd nearly fancy them but hard to know really here.
