I would always try to leave a 10% tip in a restaurant. But I leave it in cash because I feel like the credit card tip may be less likely to make it to the workers, whether that’s fair or not.
I tend to ask the waiter nowadays. Most are happy with an electronic tip and they'll take it out of the till. Ask them and they'll tell you if they would rather cash.Always, always leave the tip in cash.

A good barman or barwoman I'll sometimes say, "And take one for yourself," which is basically a tip because only the odd few would stick around after their shift with a pint.10% minimum tip for restaurants. Free now has automatically added 10% tip onto my account. But no tip for bar staff in pubs.
