The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Went to Coqbul yesterday after the marathon. Very disappointed to be honest. Burger was ok, nothing special but not bad. Chips were bang average, like what you’d get in a staff canteen. Small portion size. It was quiet enough in there but the service was very slow. Were in there at 2.35 and didn’t get our food until 3.15. Won’t be going back again in a hurry.

Half marathon or full?

Be very careful with your answer.

In Youghal there, not a single place to get lunch at half 3 on a bank holiday Monday.

Clancys closed, The Quays "taking a break" until 5pm, the Nook not doing lunch because its a Bank Holiday, and the Walter Raleigh is around 200 miles outside of town.

The cunts wonder why the place is dying a death and no tourists come here, well here's your answer.

If anyone is looking for me I'll be in Supermacs, reluctantly giving that bollox McDonagh my cash because there is no alternative.

Didn't know there was a Supermac's in Youghal. Knew there was one in Fermoy alright.
They're putting up a new Dino's in Mton over by tesco.

Had dinner in Out Of The Blue down in Dingle over the weekend.

2x Mains (Plaice with dill and lemon butter & Turbot with saffron and celeriac - nothing else on the plates) plus a single side of potatoes and root veg.
1x 750ml bottle of Italian still water.
1x 750ml bottle Italian sparkling water.

It's a place that I have always rated highly over the years.

The side dish was fairly pedestrian.

It was good enough. Not as good as it used to be and certainly not a patch on Goldie.

€94 - inc. tenner tip (service was fair but not great) - I have to say I found this a little pricey. I understand that fresh fish is at the whim of market prices - €39 for turbot is a bit heavy but breaking the €30 ceiling for plaice is really pushing it.

i was there last October, I'd echo all of that. They're bloody poe faced in there too

Was in Goldie Last weekend too it really is Magic.

Turbot dishes there were 34 ish, same for John Dory.

Hake was about 25 for the main. Add sides about a fiver which you do need (bang bang cabbage is unreal)

Starters are where they really so off their creative chops. Plaice Schnitzel with an egg yoke and a mushy pea badji thing. Definetly the best in town in my opinion
