The Official Celtic Thread

He was scouted by a guy who runs a golf club and recruited by a guy whose Da can count.
That's why Celtic are firing away €60m.

A fuckin shambles of a football club.

More and more people are thinking this can only be a deliberate policy by the Celtic Board not to get too far ahead of the Huns in case the SPL becomes same-old-same-old and people lose interest. The just enough policy has come back to bite us and it's Celtic fans who get annoyed about it - Celtic Board less so.

We'd a decent manager who said the squad is short 4 quality signings. We took a guy who couldn't get his game for Norwich on loan, while ignoring Miovski or even Shankland, both proven goal scorers in our league. They'd have cost 3 - 4M but that's a fraction of the 70M our Board told us is in the bank. And there was a potential for 60M at the end of the season.

Now it seems our Board wanted to let the Huns pay off some of their debts and make the SPL more nip-and-tuck and get in more interest and more sponsorship money - at least that's the only reason I can think of for their not strengthening an obviously understrength squad. They even chose to retain James McCarthy, one of our highest paid players who has played about 2 hours in 2 years.

It sounds absolutely insane but it's really hard find another explanation. It's the same board that failed to take any action to protect shareholders money when it was established that they were being cheated out of millions of pounds. Now they are willingly giving millions away. BR isn't entirely blameless but the cancer at the club runs much deeper than that

Joe Hart has announced he’ll be retiring from football at the end of this season. He’s been a great signing overall for Celtic.

What are the bets Lawwell has us starting next season with Bain in goal 😡
