I didnt think the Kilmarnock one was a penalty at the time and I still don't.
I only understand the fuss over it as it's the one that is presented as the leveller for all the decisions that have gone against Celtic.
The Killie player crumpled as soon as he felt contact. I know VAR wouldn't have overturned it if it had been awarded but its not a penalty for me.
I'm also OK with Hatate's one now being awarded. But that's coz I'm not 100% on interpretation of the laws in that circumstance. The one Abada got the other week (or rather didn't get) week I was certain on. Being honest, I didn't even see the handball until well after as I was concentrating on the position of the players. Seems the paid officials were the same as me.
FWIW, I thought Man Utd's goal was legit too.
Didn't see ManU game but if Hatate was offside - the ball was deflected to him out of the path of someone who was on side by the hand of a defender - then during the check they should have checked for handball too.
I think the rugby version is better. The ref asks is there any reason I can't award a score. TMO looks at it and if he was to ping Hatate for offside, he'd also have pointed out that there was a clear handball in the box.
