The Official Celtic Thread

Nick Walsh has been appointed to ref the Celtic match against the huns. It seems that the huns have never lost a league match he's reffed 14 games of which they've won 12 and drawn 2. He works at Boclair Academy as a PE teacher working with youngsters from The Rangers FC youth team. Seems a very bizarre appointment to ref such an important game involving TRFC, a team for which his father is also a Season Ticket holder btw. As the song goes "THAT's why we're 'paranoid' "
Say he's in for a rough week. Hasn't given them too much to be fair.

Handy win against a very poor Sevco side.

4-0 flattering to the vermin.

A joy to watch and clear the team, manager and supporters are building a real bond.
Another level up Tuesday but wouldn't rule anything out.
Atmosphere top dollar and the cheer for morelas and howler from the keeper topped off a great lunch

Great Management. Looking at the guys who came on yesterday - It's a decent squad now and with the new defensive MF to come in. Adaba is only 20 so will improve a lot. Good times ahead

As we won and won well there can't be any claims of sour-grapes but Nick Walsh didn't give us a penalty with the score at 0-0 when Abada was bundled over in the box just as he was about to shoot/cross; Lunstrom despite recieving a lecture after another of his fouls after only about 10 minutes in continued to foul throughout the game including dragging an opponent back using his arms, all without being carded; but I think what encapsulates Walsh's decisions was to leave Goldson on the park. Goldson had previously sneakily elbowed Jota in the head and though Walsh did speak to him afterwards there was no card, then with time almost up and Maeda rampaging down the wing leaving Goldson in his wake, Goldson with absolutely no effort at the ball whatsoever stretched out and deliberately felled Maeda with a high kick using exposed studs on his opponents upper calf/knee. It was dangerous, reckless, and there was no effort at the ball which was yards away and on the ground - a red card offence but Walsh decided it only merited a yellow. When GG pointed out that it was a clear red he got the same punishment as Goldson for his troubles.

It doesn't mean Walsh didn't give them much just because we horsed them.

I thought Goldson's was a yellow. But it did come after he banjoed Jota with a dirty elbow.

The foul on Abada in the box was a penalty.

Teflonstram can't get booked.

Kyogo was training today ahead of us pumping Real Madrid. I'd say he gets launched from the bench to grab the 5th in a rout for Celtic.

Think it might be too early for Kyogo tbh. He looked in serious pain from what seemed an inocuous challenge. Thought his collar-bone might've been cracked. Falling on the ground in the post-match celebrations I'd feared the worst.

As for Goldson under the rules of the game

"SERIOUS FOUL PLAY

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."

Goldson should've gotten TWO red cards but got none.
