The Munster Rugby Thread 24/25

Surely these decisions are not being made without the approval of the next head coach...
That's what you or I, or any sane person would think. Unfortunately, however, we're talking about Munster, so they are just as likely to have decided to get the lads tied down because they're cheaper/local and the new HC had better just deal with that.

Team for tonight's A fixture:
Munster A: Ben O’Connor; Liam Coombes, Gene O’Leary Kareem, Eoghan Smyth, Hubert Gilvarry; Dylan Hicks, Jack Oliver; Conor Bartley, Eoghan Clarke, Ronan Foxe; Conor Kennelly, Conor Ryan; Seán Edogbo, Jack Daly (C), Brian Gleeson.

Replacements: 16. Scott Buckley, 17. George Hadden, 18. Emmet Calvey, 19. Jack Kelleher, 20. Oisín Minogue, 21. Jake O’Riordan, 22. Tom Wood, 23. Oisín Pepper, 24. Harry Murphy, 25. Danny Sheahan.

Good to see a few new faces in the Munster setup, 9 academy players, Ben O’Connor, Gene O’Leary Kareem, Dylan Hicks, Jack Oliver, Ronan Foxe, Seán Edogbo, George Hadden, Jake O’Riordan and Danny Sheahan.

Quite a lot of club players involved, great to see that link being strengthened, Hubert Gilvarry (Young Munster), Conor Kennelly (Highfield RFC), Conor Ryan (UCC), Emmet Calvey (Shannon RFC), Eoghan Smyth, Jack Kelleher (Cork Constitution FC), Oisín Minogue (Shannon RFC), Tom Wood (Garryowen FC), Oisín Pepper (Young Munster RFC) and Harry Murphy (UCC RFC)

Team for the Lions announced too.
Evan O'Connell starts too. Hope he hits the ground running now. The 3rd choice lock is there for the taking.

He played well. I'd already have him ahead of Wycherly.

That was a shite performance. In previous years, we had a URC team with strong leaders like Billy Holland, Killer, and a few other lads. Barron and JOD are supposed to be that, but I'm not seeing it.

Superb performance against one of the form sides in the league. The defending was awesome.

Gav, JOD, Tom Farrell & Thaakir were off the charts. We have a serious back line when everyone is available.

Tough times but the Munster Spirit is still there, in spades. Stand up & fight.

What a return from Shane Daly, first possession was a great try.

We've been waiting for a long time for a back with gold dust sprinkled on his boots and we now have one in Thaakir. Great recruitment.

Yeah Abrahms looks likes he's finally settled in, great read to rush up and stop a certain try with 10 mins to go.

McCarthy seems to be much improved too but they could have done with Nash. Absolutely zero need in him being the cover back for Ireland up in Dublin.

I really like Tom Farrell. He's not at Frisch's level but he's close enough and has really stood out since joining.

No problem with them chasing the BP at the end because I think they'll need every single one. Didn't help that Butler shat his pants.
