The Kerry Babies Case

SNIP
An appeal on severity has to be lodged within a certain time frame. The DPP complied with that. To try and compare lodging appeal papers with DPP directions on a historical murder case just shows how ignorant you are on criminal law procedure. Which is fine, until you start pretending that you know better than people who actually work in this area.

Says the one who very recently here pretended she knew how Military Courts worked and had the effrontery to lecture others on it when she was clueless. 🤣🤣🤣

Why would they... until DNA there was no connection and that was pure fluke that it was given. Why would anyone considering the lynchmob of catholic ireland was at play. Rural ireland was a horrible place (dubai like) in the early 80s.
I went to UCC in 80s. We lost a poor girl who got pregnant and took her own life. I can still see her face. It shocked most people to the core and tbh we used to be shitless about having sex ( lads too). I have no problem in leaving this go. I'm sure the sentence indured has not been fun.
What sentence has been indured (sic)?

If that family really wanted to remove themselves from enquiries they could easily have done so in the multiple decades in between. One thing for frightened teenagers but that was 40 years ago. And the RC church lost its iron grip here over 30 years ago with Eamon Casey and the fallout

They knew they’d a days old baby boy no longer with them and that an unclaimed one washed up dead on a nearby beach and they didn’t think it might possibly be theirs? Sorry now but that stretches credibility way beyond breaking point even for Kerry people.

Poladdy if you know killer is dead please supply the details.

The dead relative is an excuse. They could have said it was a gorilla escaped from Fota that killed baby john. The point is there is no proof unless the parents admit it and i assume they havent.

Tell me how the DPP can bring a case. Give me a way that they can prove it in court. Ive only given a way that the can get off.

Body, motive, last known person to see the victim alive..
I think what needs to be told is the little babys tragic story. I can totally understand the anger and upset that posters on here have. The unusual delay and silence around the whole thing is not helpful.
Is there any journalist awake?

So your reason for the “nothing to see here” and the Director of PUBLIC Prosecutions is right to let it lie, is based on assumptions that the grandparents are now dead.

You’re effectively saying that if one can cover up the wilful murder off an infant 40 years in a conspiracy of silence, then nothing is to be gained by the DPP’s office subsequently investigating the case once the killer has died (or probably has died) due to the passage of time 😳

Suspicion, or credibility, is not proof though.

What is it you think these people can be charged with, on the basis of the evidence actually in the public domain ( not what you think happened)?

Journalists know that it takes time to get DPP directions.

So probably the highest profile infanticide case in the history of the state, that resulted in a notorious miscarriage of justice, and showed some Gardai at the time for utter c**ts will be glossed over?

Remind us how we know for a fact that the killer is dead?

And if that’s the reason the case is not being pursued by the DPP, why does the DPP not say so, instead of letting it all just drift in the hope people will accept the “Nothing to see here, now move along” routine?
Once a matter is referred to the DPP they always ALWAYS give directions.

You seem to have decided that there is an undue delay here ( there isnt) and that this is somehow because the DPP thinks that if they leave it long enough they won't have to give directions ( which it won't and which never ever happens).

So, as you often do, you've invented something and then decided to be outraged about it 🙄

Anyone know anyone that has ambitions of getting a role with the DPP?
