Like it or not going by results of the last election and recent opinion polls people in increasing numbers are prepared to put this
to one side, It would be easy to say it is the younger generation who were not around during the troubles but polls show more and more people in the 0ver 40
bracket prepared to vote sf, some for the first time, People are swayed by promises of full pension at 65, housing for all, a fully functioning
health system,

Many people dont look 10 years down the line, they look for what can be done for them next year or sooner, I know of one bloke who persuaded many work colleagues many of whom are in their late 50s upwards that if sf get into government they will get the full pension at 65,

Which is simply fantasyland stuff when we cannot even fund the current State funded retirement as there is a shortfall as well as a shortage of workers.

Leo is still the most popular leader for some reason in that poll which is strange

Leadership is the most important factor in politics and M.M. needs to up his game.

Much of the S.F. growth will win seats taken by the parties of the centre left and hard left: Greens, SocDems, PBP. and a few independents.

Labour on 4% is a shocker as we need a strong social democratic left as a socially responsible bulwark against F.G. tendencies.

S.F. are populist, pro everything to win votes, cash for every cause and anti difficult choices which is easy in opposition and I would nearly vote for it as they need to be given their chance to ruin the country just like every other party.

The economy is flying however health and housing supply are in perma-crisis and even if you scrapped the planning system tomorrow and gave approval for 300,000 new social houses there is no one here to even build them as the construction sector is now running at full capacity.

Correct, It is all very well to say we will build social housing on the same scale as the 50s/60s, but nobody will answer if asked who will build the houses? where will they be built?
