You seem to think of politics in terms of policy only. Brexit proved that, especially in Britain, politics is largely heart over head. No one should have ever voted for Brexit on policy, 100 Bill a year it's costing them - yet the overarching concern for this tory leadership contest is who is the most Brexiteer?Against a 78 seat majority?
Not a hope of even getting a vote.
Boris stays until Sept and the poisoned chalice gets handed over to a new sap as the cost of living crisis etc peaks and serious instability where they will be constantly undermined by the losing candidates and the ERG headbanger wing of the party and Boris.
The Tories are focked.
Starmer is a liability. Posted many times, intelligent, articulate, across his brief, public service vocation.......but woeful at politics. His own internal survey said he was boring - to his own party.
Rayner head and shoulders above him.
Nandy who I thought they'd go with, the same.
Since last Monday it should have been wall to wall Starmer. Immediate VONC lodged with Hoyle and every public utterance should have been election election election.
Boris was his ticket. He will lose the 20 pt lead in 12 months and will be neck and neck in 2024 at best.
