Good spot for a few days on your own.

If you're travelling by yourself, I'd give you the following advice.
  • Go somewhere English-speaking, where they speak very good English (Scandinavia, The Netherlands, you might just say Germany) or where you speak the local language. You'd be surprised how quickly not having a proper conversation will affect you
  • Don't go somewhere that is just known as a destination for bars, clubs or restaurants. You're not going to want to do thiese things alone
  • Go somewhere there are lots of things to do and see. You'll fit a lot more in travelling alone.
  • Stay in hostels, you're more likely to meet people, including fellow solo travellers

Given the current currency situation, a lot of UK destinations are good value at the moment. Otherwise, someone mentioned Berlin; it would tick all the boxes. If it's in your price range and you have the time, New York would be a decent option.

Tullamore

Just check into the Tullamore Court and don't leave for 3 days. Good food, good drink, and the leisure centre does cheap massages. Always the chance they'll have Bagatelle or Christy Moore on in the hotel too.

There's a handy petrol station across the road if you need to pop out for Lucozade or Cadburys Mint Crisp.

It's hard to argue against this.
