Cyclists

I'll indulge you, briefly, because you seem dead set on digging the hole deeper for yourself. In providing a carefully selected piece to try and justify your argument, let me point you to an excerpt.
Now, I know I am going to use a few big words here so bear with me. You might need to read it twice to get your tiny little mind around it.
- South Mall has a contra flow cycle track
- Those cyclists this morning are legally obliged to use the dedicated cycle track (especially on a one way street). End of. There's no if's or buts about it. The nonsense solicitor website link attached above again, specifies this clearly in black and white.

You are trying to pick and choose and interpret laws (that are as clear as day) to suit your own agenda.
Contraflow lanes go oneway against traffic, south mall goes both ways.

I know it's hard for you to take and understand, specific signs are now called out in which a cyclist has to adhere to. These are outlined below:

(b) A pedal cycle shall be driven on a cycle track at the entrance to which traffic sign number RUS 059 (contra-flow cycle track) is provided and pedal cycles shall only be driven in the direction indicated by the contra-flow cycle track.”.

If you come back to me and show me a law stating where a normal cycle lane with sign RUS 009 (outlined in pdf attached) is mandatory, I will concede. But you won't because no such law exists ya clown ?

You'd have to wonder how much those two cyclists were really holding up traffic this morning to be honest. Usually at that time it's chock a block with cars. There's also 4 sets of traffic lights on that street

I love the “ETA” feature on Google maps. It makes the commute much more relaxing . You know when you’re going to arrive at your destination so there is no point in speeding or breaking the law. If it says “18:23” then it will be “18:23.”

I find I usually get to the destination before the Google ETA.

Mind you, I don't necessarily follow the suggested route either

Drove the stretch of road from Glanmire down to Carrigtohill earlier this week, the old Cork road.

Its an absolute disaster what they've been allowed do there. The ridiculously wide cycleway almost the whole way down to the railbridge.

Eastbound traffic here is now restricted, no space to pull in and a very high kerb. With the speed limit here at 80km/h its actually quite dangerous if there was an accident.

And this new 8k stretch of cycleway, how many actual bikes to be seen on its length? One. One solitary pushbike.

A case study in terrible planning.

You are right.

What it does achieve though is, the County Council can say they put in X amount of cycle ways.
Then the happy clappy tree hugging Green Party will pat them on the back.
