Cork u20 Hurling 2024

Very hard to judge players in those conditions but the result was all that mattered. Jack Leahy was very sharp in the first half. Oran O Regan likes attacking but he leaves the centre an awful lot for a traditional 6. Healy was very impressive at 10. Waterford were abysmal. A lot tougher tests ahead.

Jack looked sharo tonight, great to see

I think he’d be more suited to midfield. The problem is we don’t really have another 6 without moving Kevin Lyons from 3. What a player that fella is
Healy was very impressive at 10.
Diarmuid Healy is a superstar in waiting, he’s got everything needed

We won, we move on

Is Dan murnane injured? Rated him highly at minor level would he not be able to job there at cb?

I bow deference to the better informed but Shane Kingston and Lyons are both mooted as being super old school full backs but neither seem to feature anywhere in a senior context. Is this due to the step up etc.? I understand the position is specialised labour but if these lads are doing it should they not be somewhere near. Also this is not a position where you bide your time in the corner and then earn the right to play 3 you are either a full back or you are not. Back in the 80s Brian Murphy and Denis Mulcahy were switched and hated it and even Seanie O G was shoehorned and failed . Denis Walsh stomached it in 1990 and Sully was never fully happy despite a great few years after John O Driscoll was thought to be a club player......

Tough conditions on the drive home, low numbers there from cork in my section.

Cork did well but we've another few gears to go up I reckon before the business end of things, I can sense that unless something goes horribly wrong we should win the 2IAR.

Paudie Sull, Kev Lyons, Diamruid Healy, Will Buck, Tadhg O'Connell and Jack Leahy all played well and got on a lot of ball.

Kevin lyons is some player and I hope will be a big player for cork in the next few years (but that could be just bias).

Oran O'Regan did not look like the solution to 6 out there today, but I wouldn't want Kevin to be moved out either with him being such a solid 3 so for me that leaves Darragh Sull to 6 and McAdoo to 4 and move Oran to 7 or 9.

I would also give a start to Ross Sull, that would give a good balance to our attack.
