Happened in 93 I think in Junior Football
Dohenys won the county, had to go back and play Kilbrittain in the West Cork Final.
I remember it, huge crowd in Clonakilty.
Absolutely filthy game and huge fight broke out.

Thanks for this. I was trying to recall yesterday where had it happened before, as I knew it did and there was huge controversy over it.
That Dohenys side were brilliant. Very balanced team. The club all the way to a senior final eventually. The Herlihy’s and Farrs were outstanding .. They’d a gifted Georgie Best type character playing in the forwards for them too.
Kilbrittain of course had the O Connell’s I remember, fine hurling men and Micheal Holland.

In 2011 Charleville won the County Junior A Hurling Final beating Mayfield and a week later played the Avondhu Final against Kildorrery which they won. Kildorrery broke Dillons hearts the following year in the County Final.

Will be hard for Midleton to recover and get back up for a match in 3.5 days after winning a "county final", in extra time.
You'd really have to question the value the boards, all of them, place on the competition.

Kildorrery had two quality players at that level ML Walsh, Peter O Brien,

It's a pure messy situation. Even if Bride Rovers win at weekend I dunno would I look at them as county champs, id probably still have it in my head that Midleton were the winners

Wrong thread I know but I remember what killed it for Dillons was a Kildorrery player broke his leg with about 6/7 minutes to go and Dillons had got a bit of momentum at that stage. He was down a good 5 minutes and it killed the momentum.

I think so too. Unfortunately we’d still have fallen way back after.
