Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I picked TOC over him because I have seen more of him this year and is better going forward and a more accurate passer. Not much between them though.
And isn’t that just as it should be, we are in a good place with the competition for places all over the pitch. I think Tommy and Damien could both be playing come championship

We are all very realistic about the young fellas but that doesn’t mean they can’t do the business this year, they can, and age won’t enter the selectors mind, performance will and up to now they are performing

You can bet your life they believe we can win the all ireland this year and will be instilling that belief in the players too. Elite sports is about the here and now, all they are focused on is next Sunday and getting a win, 2024 doesn’t even enter their thoughts
That’s not really true. They are blooding players in this year that they know may not make a breakthrough until next year or the year after. Of course they’ll be aiming to win the All Ireland this year but they have a succession plan too. They must plan ahead for when Hoggie and Harnedy retire, that will happen in the next 2 years anyway.

They are blooding players because they know how good they are and potentially could play a part in this years championship. If that helps develop those that don’t quite make it this year great but you seem to be implying Pat is almost writing this year off in favour of next year. with respect I don’t think you know the man very well if you think that

Please point out where I implied that.

Do you know Pat Ryan?

Do you know Pat Ryan?
Your whole post screams that. Again I’ll repeat, his only focus right now is 2023, 2024 is not even in his thoughts

I do know Pat, not very well but Cork hurling is a small world, but I didn’t mean on a personal level, I meant as a manager

Which part of it? Specifics now please.
Which part of the whole post? ???
Is he aware that you’re on here claiming to know exactly what he’s thinking? You seem to be very insistent about his thinking.
Where did I say I know exactly how he’s thinking? Have you not watched and listened to the man over the last 4 years? He’s a very straight down the line focused and driven manager

You make an awful lot of presumptions ?

Ah so you know exactly as much as I know then. Let’s not confuse things here. We’re all offering opinions and none of us know any more about their thinking than anyone else.

You misunderstood my post. I said or inferred nowhere that they are writing off this year.
