I’m not disagreeing with you, but the problems are deeper than that also.

Half a decade ago we were relegated to division 3, here we are now in roughly the same position still with a lot of the same players, while other counties like Derry have quickly surpassed us and reached the top table, football is stagnating in Cork and we’re falling further off the leading pack when in reality we should be able to push on, especially given the shear amount of clubs and players to choose from.

How in the name of Jesus you cannot put together a decent Squad with proper coaching from a County of over 200 clubs and minor and u20 All Ireland winning team.

Picking players who lack the very basic skills. Shooting , even heads up soloing. Strong running ball carriers, all fit on the S and C Stats, cannot kick pass over 20 metres and clumsy in the tackle.

How in the name of Jesus you cannot put together a decent Squad with proper coaching from a County of over 200 clubs and minor and u20 All Ireland winning team.

We have good footballers who turn their back on inter county if they get the chance of being anywhere near the hurling panel.
Football doesn’t have the same ‘status’ for them and this mess won’t help.

We need to stop bringing in coaches from outside who offer nothing or are way off - Jason ryan, billy sheehan and Walsh……I still cannot believe we don’t have any kickout when under pressure except high and left, Cavan ate us on it for the entire second half.

Seems the kickout options are either one of the corner backs that the opposition team are conceding the kickout to, a routine where the back 6 group together in the 45 and run off in different directions and if all else fails the long to the left kickout that everyone in the country knows about at this stage. Serious work needs to be done in the formation of players for the kickouts and the options available in each formation. Lot of it also comes down to the quality of kickout available from the keeper which leaves a lot to be desired in Cork.

The development from the players on those teams has been very disappointing. Colm o Callaghan the only guarenteed starter from the 20’s team and nobody from the minors although Conor Corbett has been unlucky with injuries.
