Cork Developments

Accident/ incident, you knew what I meant.
You never said anything about East I did just as I did in the first post you quoted.

“Eagerly waiting my response”
That is quite sad.
Ah no, it's not sad at all, I called you on your crap.

Try and refrain from suggesting I mentioned things that I did not do.

The intention of the project was to improve flow, it did that.
As demonstrated this morning, had that happened before the upgrade all approaches would have been impacted, they weren't, therefore in my book, that's a success.

If the good people coming up from East cannot notice an improvement, then fair enough. I am not sure what people expected. The plans for the project were online for a long time before the project began.
The tunnel is well and truly beyond capacity now.

What crap, so the traffic doesn't back up coming from the east worse than before the "improvements"
I must be seeing things most mornings and evenings so.

I asked you a question based on your stupid post, as typified by another poster laughing at your suggestion

It clearly doesn't improve flow.

Is there any regular meetings that are open to the public regarding any future projects for the city that a person can attend ? Like are there any meetings regarding the docklands that are open to the public ?

It is public consultation I know for JCD project on Albert Quay but I don't know the form it takes. Email or what
I think the big project on the Docklands (R&H Hall) is finished that process

Interesting fact about the tunnel: at the design stage, civil servants in the department of Transport (or whatever it was called then) wanted the tunnel to have a single lane in each direction. The NTA fought for 2 lanes (and obviously won the argument).
Could you imagine...one lane in each direction...you think it is bad now...

I'd argue the western slip road from little island needs to be removed. It's compromised the entire eastern access.

There's really only so much you can do with a massive road interchange with so much traffic being pumped into it.

A load (not all, but a major chunk) of those coming from the east could easily make use the commuter rail. That's in the middle of being brought up to DART levels of efficiency and frequency.

It's fuck all good at Kent for most people, who live in the burbs.

They need to upgrade the tunnel to Blackpool, making it dual carriageway at least then people might have a chance of parking to get the train.

Plenty of parking in Little Island and Glounthaune for those driving. Very quick train journey in. If you live in Carrigtwohill or Midleton there should be no reason at all to drive into the city.

I am wondering now, am I wasting my time in even responding to you, because you completely fail to get my point?

I will get out my crayons and try again.

I get your frustration with the flow from the East, it is a pity that it was put in anyone's mind that this project would eliminate all traffic issues.

That could not occur, as the tunnel is a bottle neck

The best the designers could do was to separate all of the slips so that they could get rid of the roundabout.
When the roundabout was there and if there was an issue, of which there were plenty.
Traffic coming at and coming from all sides were caught up in it.
Now that there are slip roads, only some traffic will be affected, not all.
That is what has been achieved I think anyone who believed that the intersection was in someway going to alleviate all traffic issues down there was being overly optimistic.
