An Bord Pleanála gives green light to 700 homes in Carrigtwohill
The development consists of 224 houses and 282 duplex units and 208 apartments

I think that those talks have been going on for a long while (late last year) and good to see those much needed apartments proceed. There is talk that the NDA has struck a deal with the developers of the apartment block that is planned for Horgans Quay.
Also some development on the O Callaghan apartments on Kennedy Quay, well talk of same. Hopefully they will get underway within the next few months
I believe also that The Marquee has found itself a new home thereby allowing the apartment development on that site to proceed
The new student apartment blocks on the Straight Road (just beyond the County Hall) look ok, now that the external finishes are applied.
During construction, I thought they would be awful. Pleasantly surprised.
The minecraft one is growing on me, I though it was rank at the startThe entire area of Victoria cross has been systematically destroyed with cheap high rise flats in varying states of poor external maintenance.
Its a shame as it used be a nice area.

I fully agree with you. Apart from the UCC block and other new one under construction on the Straight Road (the one I referred to) - all the other student apartment blocks in Victoria Cross area are hideous. The entire area of Victoria cross has been systematically destroyed with cheap high rise flats in varying states of poor external maintenance.

I don't mind the new ones but the beige one at the old Victoria Sawmills is an eyesore.
