2023 Premier SHC

So the rest should just close up their gates and forget about hurting because they can’t beat Imokilly Maybe they should all join the super club from the Barony 🤣
Well 30 years ago senior hurling was all city teams. And then the smaller east cork teams developed there underage teams and now the majority of the best hurlers come from east cork. Something u find hard to comprehend. Seadun could be there too competing if they put any bit of effort into hurling. That’s a stupid question you asked. “How many teams could beat imokilly?”. You could say the same for sars and midleton. Or any of the stronger teams over years such as the bars team last year. They strolled through every game except the first. There’s strong teams and not so strong teams every year, just happened imokilly r strong this year. But the imokilly side any even that strong they had 2 walk overs and look better than they are. “How many teams could beat midleton?” Still teams show up and try to win when they play midleton. Blackrock beat the stripes last year and the glen year before. And all the castlemartyr boys are playing the day before with their club. So I guarantee sars v imokilly will be a tight game. I fancy sars to win. But you think you be more accepting of players from smaller clubs playing a higher grade of hurling as so many cork players had played for the stripes e.g. Seamus h, Niall ol, deccie dalton, get mellerick, pebbles, bill cooper, joycey and etc.

It’s up to the other teams to get better with all of there facilities they have. My local club have terrible facilities but still mange to produce four players to play for cork in the last 8 years. Hurling is the number one sport in east cork because of st Colmans and midleton cbs promoting the game so much. In the other areas of cork they have other sports to compete with. People from east cork live and breathe hurling

Pity Colmans turned down the redevelopment offer from Fermoy.

My fondest memories of hurling is going watching Colmans play Harty games. I presume it’s the same if u went to cbs too. More schools need allow students to watch their schools play and get a few flares and chants going. Will hugely promote hurling in These areas

Calm down there fella, the last time Cork played there was only 5 players from EC
There was 6 actually started from EC yah sausage🤣. Is 6 players starting from 1 division not good, if muskerry had that much they would be buzzing. 6 out of 15 is the most from one division. Only 4 started from the city.

Not sure will Imokilly defeat Sars. I mean they 100% could but other than challenge matches, all they've played is a p*ss poor Douglas and Avondhu - even though we might have given them some bit of a game I can't see it being enough to get over Sars who've had 4 games now

You said the majority mate, which obviously 6 starters does not make. Im delighted to see hurling thriving in East Cork, but have my issues with the number of clubs these divisional teams have access to.

I was at the Imokilly Douglas game and they were playing at a canter. They will only improve as it goes on and if conditions are poor I actually think that will suit them more. Imokilly by 4. I think it will be an EC final this year. Lets be honest hurling is strong there at the moment.
