Played Liam and his son in a father and son tournament way back when...haha.. it actually wouldn't make a bad storyline alright because my dad knew the owner of the 147 (Liam O Connor) as they grew up near each other around Greenmount as kids - Liam was a lovely fella, had that 80's George Michael side crease + mullet thing going on.. suave lad. The guy who ran the place for him was Tony I think? He was your classic snooker hall fella, big thick framed black bakelite glasses that have become cool now, patterned jumper and smoked like a trooper, the reception there had a constant smog before we even knew what smog was. He was from Gurran somewhere and would have either known a fair few of the gougers, or had links to them through fellas playing in the 147. Anyway, whatever weight Tony carried had the car returned, the only damage being where they hot-wired it by the steering wheel!
I presume they won well?Played Liam and his son in a father and son tournament way back when...
Ahem ahemI presume they won well?
I think the sons name was Anthony? He was close to going professional as far as I remember? They had a practice table for him in the 147 with the proper pro pockets, you'd be an hour trying to play a frame on it!
You must have been a dab hand.. I remember the board in the 147 with the century breaks and they were almost all Anthony’s!Ahem ahem
Do you remember the Regal? You must have been a fan hand.. I remember the board in the 147 with the century breaks and they were almost all Anthony’s!
