I was in the Tannery in Dungarvan tonight. Excellent food and great service. There was a big gang of us and there wasn't a bad word from anyone about any dish. We had starters, mains, desserts, some wine and a few cocktails and coffees.

€170 per couple.

Was excellent 20 years ago. That was the only time I dined there. Dungarvan is a nice spot

Popped in there for lunch last Sunday after a walk.

Really good. Had Fish n chips, very tasty and decent portions.

2 mains and a kids main came to €44, would return.

That sounds like great value, given the quality and portion size. Must give it a shot. Sound

Funnily enough, I ate in The Seachurch down in Ballycotton after a walk around Garryvoe last Saturday. Just stopped in for lunch. It's a nice space.

We both got fish and chips. Light batter, fresh fish which wasn't overcooked or greasy. Served with minted pea puree, fresh tartar sauce and, oddly, chip shop curry (which I set aside).

2 x mains
1 x Ballygowan Still
1 x Ballygowan Sparkling

€46. Couldn't leave a tip because they're not allowed put it on their card machine and they don't have a QR code on the tables for separate gratuities like some place now do.

Didn't have any cash because I'd spent what little I did have on me buying 2 soft drinks in The Blackbird prior to lunch and their card machine wasn't working at all. My wife managed about 3 quid in coins. Can't say that the service was anything above perfunctory anyway.

We've booked a few nights in Youghal around my birthday next week.

Dinner options, any suggestions?

We'll do the Quays on my birthday as that's a great spot, but we'd like to try somewhere new the night before. Is that Red Store place any good? I think Ahernes might be gone?

Clancys is nice but I wouldn't go there at night, it's more of a lunch spot IMO. We're staying in the Walter Raleigh but that bar is rubbish in my experience

Odd time to release a Palestinian cookbook at a time when people are starving to death over there.

I also saw a place in Waterford which has a Palestinian special on each day, with the proceeds going to Palestine.

So the more you eat, the better it is for them. We live in a strange world
