Very poor since

Kyogo not sharp

Rio and Forrest very ineffective

Daeda for Forrest. Maybe this will help

I'd like to see Bernardo on for Rio

Idah badly needed

Not convinced by Scales

Never ceases to amaze me the pelters Scales gets. Could/Should we have better? Absolutely. Has he been our worst performing player? Nope - not even close. He's consistently putting in decent performances but it seems that because he didn't come up through Celtic's ranks, and/or that we got him for buttons, that it's OK to criticise him time and again. He was every bit as good as CCV yesterday, indeed some might say better, but Scales seems to be the pet hate for a lot of Celtic fans - on his performances I just don't get it 🤷‍♂️. He's shown himself to be better than Lagerbielke and Rocky, and he can play left back at a pinch so is presumably the cover for Taylor who I think had a decent game yesterday - works hard and is unselfish, but can get caught out of position at times - to be expected when he spends much of his time in midfield or advanced on the left wing.

Kyogo was making some brilliant runs but the ball seldom fell his way and when it did he just didn't have any luck with it. Didn't help that he got bumped and knocked continuously by defenders. His shoulder injury is a worry.

Pity that we seemed to ease off in the second half and let Hibs more into it - still don't think Schmeichal had a single save to make but Brendan needs to keep things freshened up - having to bring on Mikey Johnson (brave but so often very ineffective) sums up how bereft of forwards that we are. Should be buying Idah AND Myovski but the board are still faffing about and might eventually sign just one late in the window and it'll take weeks more for him to be up to speed.

The guy I'm not convinced by yet is Bernardo - brilliant in flashes last year but can be the invisible man for lengthy periods and I'm not sure that he has the work ethic required for the SPL. Fingers crossed BR can improve him into a worthy replacement for MOR

Seems Celtic have signed Adam Idah for a whopping 8.5M plus add-ons. I've serious questions about this transfer if that figure is true. If it is, then why on earth didn't we offer that at the start of the summer and get him in and ready early doors?

Just to reiterate, I think our buying him from Norwich for 8.5M+ is too much, and I fervently hope it's not going to have adverse affect on club wage-structure and harmony.

So now it seems we've spent 12M+ to make two loan signings from last season permanent. We're also down a couple of players like McCarthy (at last), and Oh. I'd like to see us sign another (backup) striker, a first team centre-half; a backup left back; and a defensive midfielder to let CalMac play further forward.

It was a very stupid decision to take Idah on loan without a buy option. Someone needs to be held accountable. Could cost the club 6 or 7 million. 15% sell on clause also.

Idah's price soared once he became successful with us. We could've got him for a third of the price six months ago.

In other news Celtic are now heavily linked with a Peruvian defensive midfielder/centre-half named Renato Tapia from Celta Vigo. I know it's all speculation at the moment but this one seems to have gotten more traction than many.

He's frequently been capped by his country so would hopefully ease the "international clearance" hurdle if it comes to it.

"Celtic have been credited as one of three clubs with an interest in the 29-year-old. Brazilian outfit, Fluminese, and Bundesliga side Union Berlin are among his other suitors.

The publication claim that he hasn’t made a ‘firm decision’ about his future despite having admiration from the trio mentioned. As a free agent, he is weighing up his options and was on holiday at the time the news came to light.

Nevertheless, Celtic are said to be a player in the game to try and land the defensive midfielder. He left Celta Vigo to seek an opportunity elsewhere following four years at the La Liga outfit."

Maeda was a pain in the hole for the time he was on. Constant pressing. He must be a nightmare to play against.

Idah looked a bit off it when he came on. I have the same reservations about him that others have expressed.

The Hibs goal was a great header. Even with the VAR line it still looked off to me.... but other than that, they offered very little.

Clancy did his usual trick of giving a free kick every time a Hibs player hit the deck. James Forrest hauled over in the box yet he gave nothing. Maybe a soft pen but certainly more of an infringement than 7-8 of the frees Hibs were given.

Interesting that Yang came on before Palma.

job done and through to the next round where we've drawn Falkirk.
