You do understand that conditions change don't you?

We thought that we were coming out of the crisis with more and more of our population fully vaccinated and the numbers testing positive day on day reducing. BUT, unfortunately the numbers testing positive day after day is now up in the thousands per day, the hospitals are filling with Covid cases, and more and more our ICUs have come under serious pressure in the last week or so.

Even the Minister for Health is talking of introducing Antigen testing, something he and his government were so set against for many months. We are in another crisis, and while the government have made decisions to reduce our interactions, they've stuck doggedly to a "lets reduce the PUP" decision which was made in better times and society looked like opening up again, rather than what has happened and it's looking like closing down more.

Booboo who tries to avoid answering questions by saying it's just whataboutery to ask similar questions about other parties that he does about SF, instantly reaches for the "SF are in government in the North" card that he's seen others here use. Clearly it's lost on him that SF are one of 5 different parties from right across the political spectrum in the north that's in government there.

Sinn Fein have finance and health in Northern Ireland.

'A&E's have nothing to do with us'.

How many A&Es in the Republic have had to turn away patients this week?

It is reported dept of finance officials recommended the cutting of the PUP to get more construction workers back to work, This is the balancing act, Terrible time for nightclub staff who will now be out of work but one consolation is there is plenty of work in the day time hospitality sector, Id say there would not be much difference in pay between a nightclub worker and somebody working in a bar/cafe by day,

Do you not agree that somebody who loses a nightclub job would be probably be financially and socially as well
off in a daytime hospitality job?
Restaurants and bars etc are struggling to get staff as a lot of them have moved into retail/call centres etc as they have better hours and benefits for families etc.

There is plenty of work out there now and it is a jobseekers market.
