The Gaelic Football Thread

If you really want to annoy the Norries, tell them that Cork rescued Sam Maguire in 2010 after Sam had spent 8 years in the Kingdom - 4 years in the Kingdom of Kerry and the other 4 in the United Kingdom.

I remember travelling up to that double bill in 06, kerry-armagh at 2, cork-donegal at 4. Myself and a buddy were living in limerick at the time and were heading up. We had a few jars on the friday and waited to make sure we were ok to drive and were late leaving limerick on the saturday thinking we'd be lucky to make the start of the kerry match. When the road narrowed into one lane after nenagh we realised there were a pile of KY registered cars behind us who were equally running late for the game.

We decided we'd slow down to 65-70 kph to make as many of the fuckers miss the start as possible. For our troubles I think we got the finger at least 15-20 times between there and abbeyleix. We arrived at Croker at 2:20. Happy out.

Small men in many ways.

Brilliant stuff

In particular a group of them were whinging in the pub after the 2009 AI Final about wasting their time and money coming down to watch another Cork team bottling it in an All Ireland Final. Lovely stuff to listen to when the head was already in a bad place and them with their one All Ireland in 125 years.

And here was me thinking they came down to watch their minors that day.

Clefto won't be happy his ranting thread on all things Kerry is being demoted in this manner.

This might give some of ye a laugh, I've put roughly 1,000 miles on the clock in the past 2 weeks following various Kerry teams....its been totally worth it..:rolleyes:

Anyway, I'd have to agree on Armagh slightly inflating themselves...I like Big joe, but his book was full of "we'd have won the AI that year only for.." stories. Fact is, they were lucky enough to win the 1 they did win..even though I think they probably deserved it.

In fairness they were unlucky in the fact that Tyrone and Kerry of that vintage would probably be 2 of the top 5 teams ever. Armagh were probably a notch behind both.

That was a superb Armagh side.

Clefto? A Pap turned D4, roysh :lol!:Never ending stream of whinge, bluster, spin and yerrayerra from the 'billies, Weshtay, needs a dedicated thread. There'll be plenty of opportunities for you to attempt to pompously derail that thread when it is resurrected. And ,no, didn't get a laugh , you're about as funny as a burning orphanage, though you might get one from Ponyboy. Speaking of Ponyboy, is he still in your 'good boys' books after telling us about holding up the animals on the road.

Lad,there's a nastiness and bile about your posts that is totally unnecessary. And probably pretty unhealthy. Go out and take a walk or something, get yourself a glass of water.

Repped Tony.

I'm all for the banter but the nastiness on show from some posters is letting them down. There are a few tipp and kerry lads here who improve the site.
