Michael Murphy is back with a bang! Armagh were the team with the momentum at the time, but on Murphy's introduction, it rattled his marker Aidan Forker, who stupidly decided to do a Zidane on it and headbutt him into the chest. Unlike Matterazzi in 06, Murphy didn't even flinch. Murphy soon after scored 3 classy points, 2 of his right foot, 1 on his left. Momentum firmly back on Donegal's side and they saw out the game thereafter. Full house in Ballybofey too. The buzz is back in Donegal football. Great to see Murphy back.

Takes some getting used to on a sideline though! At least 3 calls in the match yesterday all to do with new rules that had me for a few seconds until I figured it out

The 13 yard free for tackling a lad too quickly after the solo and go is very harsh right now for kids but they’ll get used to it. Also, we had a lad pinged for catching a messed up kick out before it’s travelled out of the arc. Dissent and giving the ball back for a free haven’t been an issues at all

The scoring in Div 2 is off the charts compared to div 1. Cork and westmeath 3-18 to 3-17. Roscommon scoring 24 points. Meath 23.
Guess division 1 more tactical. Mayo tyrone yesterday was awful stuff. One of these if not both will go down. Donegal flying it, but hard to keep up that level of performance till July

This is a football revolution, like I haven’t seen in my lifetime. The dour tactical game has been unwound (not before time) and over the next few years Gaelic football is going to evolve into the spectacular. Some bumps along the way no doubt but strong people are steering this ship. Some of the games I’ve seen are absolutely fantastic. Makes me feel like my normal January & February games in the McGrath cup up in Mallow were behind the iron curtain and we’ve been liberated!!

I think he was trying to throw a headbutt a couple of seconds before he did but Murphy pushed him away. Absolutely idiotic from him
