Support After Crime

I think the "an area not under their remit" bit is bullshit tbh.

Many serious criminal cases get heard in the central criminal court, even if the offence took place in Cork. Therefore, they were always going to have to travel to Dublin if they were to support victims during trials.

The 14k figure is the entirely of the alleged overpayment (afaik) not the figure for the overnight stays.
Look, I don't know anything other than what's written in the article tbh.
2 verified trips to dublin is what it says.
Maybe there was vip tickets to Gary brooks involved.
Who knows?

It doesn't say that the €2,600 was charged for 2 trips to Dublin though.

"Across the period of review, circa €50k of the €96.69k claimed was without supporting documentation, including €2.6k of overnight expenses without documentation claimed by one staff member."

Probably.
It was an echo piece, I lost interest quickly.

It's not the best written article I have ever seen!

There may have been actual fraud here, of course, but it sounds more like bad management and not keeping on top of requirements to me.
Having worked with and advised charities, I can honestly say they are often run like the Wild West with one sherrif calling the shots and people with very little actual knowledge making decisions
Yup!
