Support After Crime

Yes, I get that. But it’s shocking for one that government funds (and private) are not audited more often. Is there any follow up on findings like these? Does this Director just walk away without any accountability?

Did you have any experience with them?

It seems from the article that there was misrepresentation of numbers of victims supported along with improper records on volunteers.
Only once. Well over a decade ago at this stage. The client felt they got a good service from them IIRC. I was in on a watching brief on the criminal side of the case, so as the victim of the crime wasn't my client I don't have a lot of detail but I think it was generally positive.

What happens in lots of cases (not necessarily this one) is that people believe they do a good job or provide a great service, and maybe it's largely true... they get pats on the back all over the place through out their career etc. And lots of people feel they are deserving of more in return for working so hard. Be that money or benefits or whatever. And many take the opportunity to do just that because they feel it's rightveven though it's morally wrong.
