Staying In Cork City Centre.

?
Meat, fish and pastas mainly but eat a variety of other foods too Mattie.
They like a glass of wine with meals usually and a few beers during the day. Info on inexpensive, central pubs and restaurants would be appreciated.
Long Valley for a sandwich and a pint
Cork and Fork is meant to be good.
Bocelli on OP street is a nice mid price Italian.
Market Lane is grand, pretty good value for lunch
Orso is lovely for lunch, but maybe a little pricy for small portions
Sonflour is meant to be really good, may be hard to get a booking.
Similar for Goldie, really great food, but they may struggle with a booking.
Tedo tapas bar on Princes street is good for cheap but tasty tapas (Or it was anyway, haven't eaten there in a while)
4 liars in Shandon does great Syrian food
Dashi Deli would be my pick for sushi. They do curries and noodle dishes as well, but don't know what they are like
Cafe Izz for Palestinian food.

and finally, Jackie Lennox's for fish and chips.

Thanks Mattie.
Any advice on pubs?

Stay out of em, they're bad for your health!

I'm not much of a pub goer im afraid, so im not of much help.
Crane lane, Arthur Maynes, The oval, Callanans, Fredz, Mutton lane, The castle, would have been my pubs of choice when I did go out in town, but that is many years and children ago ;-)

If you're looking to reacquaint yourself with the pubs of Cork then please don't hesitate to contact me.

I can assure you that I'm a far better ride than Dan.

?
No riding interest as they are a retired couple.
Good pub advice welcome though Merch.

Over the last couple of weeks, I've frequented a good number of watering holes. Below are the results of my research:

Southern Star - nice pints of Stout
Fionbarras (good pizza)
The Roundy - only 5.70 for a Murphy's there. Good for people watching.
The Shelburne - does what it says on the tin
Mutton Lane - cosy, consistently good stout, Murphy's and Guinness
Paddy The Farmers - good for liquid lunches
The Long Valley - Great lunch spot
The Maple Leaf (Midleton) - Lovely Sports Bar
Barretts (Ballinghassig)

Pubs that I did not like, for various reasons.
The Hyde Out (sorry MOE)
Coughlans
The Oliver Plunkett
Fredz. It was closed, bastards
Mardyke pool hall. Worst pint of Stout I had in a long time was in there.
