Staying In Cork City Centre.

?
A Spanish couple who I know are thinking of going to Cork in September and have asked me for advice. Their English is good. Which parts of the city centre are good and safe for hotels or b&bs?
Help appreciated folks.

Montenotte Hotel is nice and in one of the few decent areas of the Northside with St. Lukes and great views.

City center probably the Metropole or Imperial for old style charm.

The big suburban hotels are fairly boring.

On a budget just head to one of the cheaper chain hotels.

I think it's got to the stage where I'd tell people to avoid the Clayton in town. Grand hotel but that area has just gotten too rough, I wouldn't want anyone I know having to put up with the shit around there.

The new Premier Inn on Morrissons Island is probably a good bet. Reliable chain and great location.

They are on a budget Stacky so could you recommend any places in centre or Wilton/Bishopstown.
Advice on b&bs also welcome.

We get people travelling over to Cork for work regularly and we put them in Kingsley on the Lee Road and they all like it, very nice swimming pool and leisure facilities, decent walks up the Lee fields, UCC, Fitzgerald's park etc and it's pretty good value for money compared to the other hotels in town.

Premier Inn then and tell them to just cut down on the bullfighting, rioja and paella for a few weeks to help save up for it?

There is a big Spanish community in Cork so look into doing a house swap?
