apparently the STORMONT Executive of which SF are lead party rolled out phone pouches for schools earlier in the year maybe thats where the gov got the idea.

cost of the trial roll out to 10 schools was 250k.
looking at our secondary schools we have 720 , so multipy that 720 by 250k and you get 18 million so maybe we are getting value for money after all ,im not suggesting that for a minute but the Taoiseach pointed out today its not mandatory, it wont be forced on any school and the cost comes in at around 20 euro per child , in the overall scheme of things taking possible mental health benefits thats a small investment.
the IRONY of the whole situation re SF stance is just what it is IRONIC.
Simon Harris said the same scheme is in place in Northern Ireland where Sinn Fein is in the Stormont administration.
