Sinn Fein are not a Normal Political Party

Did you properly readd or fully understand the staement?

"If Northern Ireland chose to remain in the UK indefinitely, by reforming its economy it would greatly enhance its economic position within the UK.
This would result in a substantial improvement in its relative standard of living, the authors said."

N.I. is part of the U.K. and in the E.U. single market and customs union so unlike Scotland and Wales it has the best of both worlds and it would gain very little economically in uniting with the Republic.

The N.I. economy is already doing better than the rest of the U.K. (Scotland,England and Wales) due to its dual access. London will always do well on its own.

Carrigaline as a large commuter suburb of Cork does not have its own "economy" or different jurisdiction either economically or politically.
That clown things that Carrigaline is a good example as its half way between the City and Crosshaven.

What an absolute clown

SF/IRA = Scum

Some people here seem to detest the idea of a United Ireland. I find it strange.
What is in it for Cork or Munster?

Huge investment would happen between Dublin and Belfast to the detriment of the rest of the country.

N.I. is a complete kip as it is and it requires huge investment.

Corks gets little enough as it is from central Govt.

Do you really want 1 million angry Loyalists etc dragging the country down at a huge economic cost that we cannot even afford?

Some sort of federal solution might work with Stormont retained for the 6 counties but all the polls in N.I. continue to show that it will not be passed in any vote anyway.

If the flag and anthem were put on the table in a border poll, It would be heavily defeated in the south, People who may not have
a republican bone in their body but take immense pride in the flag and anthem will not entertain changing them purely to satisfy
those who yearn for a UI, A poll may well be held in maybe 10 years time and if so put everything on the table,
Spell it out for people re extra taxes, cuts to services etc, If it a case of saying to people that after 10 years we will be turning a healthy profit
and all cuts and extra taxes will then be reversed then let the people have all the info before voting,

Belfast will never be governed from Dublin even if there is a United Ireland. All that would really happen at political level is the Stormont Assembly would be funded by Dublin and not London.

jimmy, why would people " take immense pride in the flag and anthem " over the reunification of the country symbolised by the selfsame flag and anthem. The flag and anthem are very secondary to the integrity of the country itself imho. Your claim that people would "take immense pride in the flag and anthem" over and above the country itself would be akin to people not wanting to follow Liverpool anymore if they decided to change from Red to Green jerseys. The anthem and flag were for a 32 county Ireland.

It would be interesting to see if there would be funding arriving from other sources in the wake of a reunited Ireland

Are your crowd just going to go back to robbing banks/post offices, washing diesel and extortion as that potential ammount will not even come close to the 20 billion required to fund it?

I say it would remain at a decentralised local governance to Stormont.

The hardline Unionists are willing to do down the plughole with London on Brexit and are willing to sacrifice even more so as not to be governed from Dublin....ever.
