Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

This interview with the Ukrainian Omega operator on the first days of the war is an absolute gem!

The interview is very frank, without making things up. This can be seen, for example, in the statements about the professionalism of selected units of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as in the description of the chaos of the first hours. The story told by this soldier brings to a close a number of threads that for me personally were not quite clear, including:

- what the first moments of the attack on Hostomel looked like - a few helicopters were destroyed after which the Russkies, not expecting any resistance beforehand, blew up the rest of the landing force further from the buildings and started firing with Ka-52s and conducted a decent assault,
- Did the Russkies really try to enter Kiev in the first days disguised as Ukrainians, or is it just a legend? According to intelligence, it's true, and the Russkies used cars seized in Chernobyl - supposedly - just Omega units (2 x Kozak and one KrAZ), and 3 cars taken at the airport (Varta and Kozak), which had the license plates of special units, and thanks to this the Russkies got into the city,
- about the initial lack of Western weapons in the units near Kiev, they began to appear sporadically after a few days,
- about the landing on Il-76: openly, there was none - the idea was abandoned immediately after the first fighting in Hostomel, according to the operator, and the Vedeve units were redeployed to Baranovichi in Belarus, and from there they arrived near Kiev "in a hurry",
- about the participation of the local population in fighting the Russkies,
- and many, many others.

a large number of photos inside too!

Very Interesting - Thank you for posting this and the other great material. There will be many fascinating documentaries and action movies, based on this war, in the years ahead.

It looks like Putin is now going full-on, with the Wagner Tactics - throwing waves of untrained, ill-equipped cannon fodder into battle. Ru has moved from recruitment to coercion of imprisioned men to feed it's need for cannon fodder.

Military experts use the adage 'Quantity has a Quality all of it's own' - that's gonna apply now more than ever.

Ua Front line defence is more horrific than ever, evoking scenes from 'The Walking Dead' with hordes of Zombies, in wave after wave of relentless attack.

It's blind panic from Putin - he's aware that the cavalry is on the way and this is the last throw of the dice.

Hopefully Ua can withstand this assault until it's offensive capability is in place. If so, it's going to be a rout later on this year

Seems like the orcs are kicking off their big offensive now before the snow melts and the serious gear gets from the allies to Ukraine. Hopefully the orc's logistics are as good as ever!

The Ukrainians keep "bigging" up the Russian build up and their offensive capabilities in their demands for more weapons. This has been an effective ploy up to now and aided by the "expert" commentators who always seem to have a deferential reverence of Russian conventional military capabilities. The west eventually delivers. However the reality is that the Russian corrupted and sclerotic behemot is only capable of WWI tactics of advancing behind massed artillery fire and over the bodies of their dead. They do not have the logistical capabilities to coordinate the military systems which would be needed to punch through the Ukrainian lines. If the Ukrainians can roll with the punches until they can build up sufficent mobile offensive power to break through the Russian lines. If they capture Mariupol, Crimea wil be cut off and Putin will be in deep shit .

The offensive will be to pile on the conscripts and ex-prisoners purely to wear down UA defenders and have them use up valuable ammo. Then Wagner etc make the push in to areas that have become weakened.
This will be a cruel and drawn out attack with heavy casualties on both sides.

I agree with everything LB except maybe the point about 'expert' commentators - All the retired military officers that I've heard on Sky, CNN and Radio Times are very critical of Ru military in every respect. It's hard to see how Ru could adapt quickly

Looks that way.

The murdering midget must be panicking big time. Some of the cannon fodder don't even know which end of the rifle to point at the enemy.

It confirms that the Orcs know it'll be a turkey shoot when Ua finally gets the heavy tanks.
