Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

Russian fighter who waved skull of dead Ukrainian at concert shot in the head

A Russian fighter who waved the skull of dead Ukrainian at a concert in Mariupol has been shot in the head in Ukraine. Igor Mangushev died from the gunshot wound. "We are not at war with people of blood and flesh. We are at war with an idea — Ukraine as an anti-Russian state," he had said at the concert.

Ironic-he waves a skull of a dead Ukrainian and he then gets shot in the skull!

Notorious Russian army captain and mercenary Igor Mangushev has died in hospital, days after he was shot in the head at close range in occupied Ukraine, his friends have said.
Mangushev's wife Tatyana described his killing as an execution.
He commanded an anti-drone unit in occupied Luhansk, but had also been one of the founders of a mercenary group fighting Ukrainian forces in 2014.
He took to a stage last summer holding a man's skull.
In a video posted on social media in August, Mangushev was filmed saying the skull belonged to a Ukrainian fighter killed defending the Azovstal steel works in the southern port of Mariupol.
An extreme nationalist, Mangushev said Russia was not at war with people, but with an idea of Ukraine as an "anti-Russian state", and it did not matter how many Ukrainians died.

Mangushev emerged from a neo-Nazi movement to co-found private mercenary group Yenot (raccoon).
He was later known to have collaborated with Russia's most notorious mercenary boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, as a political strategist.
The shooting has prompted widespread speculation about who might have carried out the attack at a checkpoint in the occupied Ukrainian town of Kadiivka, some distance from the frontline.
Russian reports said he had been shot at close range with a 9mm bullet fired from the top of his head at an angle of 45 degrees. Russian authorities are investigating the killing and have so far said nothing about the circumstances.
The bullet had reportedly lodged in his brain. Before he died, pictures showed him lying in a hospital bed.
Another extreme Russian nationalist, Pavel Gubarev, said everyone knew who was behind the shooting and observed that Prigozhin had for the moment gone quiet.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Danylo Sikan allegedly punched a drunken Russian in a hotel in Turkey, after seeing him wearing a club T-shirt shouting "Glory to Russia."
The katsap lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital.

Separate post as it is important.

The Dutch have published the report on MH17 tragedy, when russian backed separatists have shot down the Malaysia Airlines plane over Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed. The shoot-down occurred during the war in Donbas over territory controlled by Russian separatist forces.

This interview with the Ukrainian Omega operator on the first days of the war is an absolute gem!

The interview is very frank, without making things up. This can be seen, for example, in the statements about the professionalism of selected units of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as in the description of the chaos of the first hours. The story told by this soldier brings to a close a number of threads that for me personally were not quite clear, including:

- what the first moments of the attack on Hostomel looked like - a few helicopters were destroyed after which the Russkies, not expecting any resistance beforehand, blew up the rest of the landing force further from the buildings and started firing with Ka-52s and conducted a decent assault,
- Did the Russkies really try to enter Kiev in the first days disguised as Ukrainians, or is it just a legend? According to intelligence, it's true, and the Russkies used cars seized in Chernobyl - supposedly - just Omega units (2 x Kozak and one KrAZ), and 3 cars taken at the airport (Varta and Kozak), which had the license plates of special units, and thanks to this the Russkies got into the city,
- about the initial lack of Western weapons in the units near Kiev, they began to appear sporadically after a few days,
- about the landing on Il-76: openly, there was none - the idea was abandoned immediately after the first fighting in Hostomel, according to the operator, and the Vedeve units were redeployed to Baranovichi in Belarus, and from there they arrived near Kiev "in a hurry",
- about the participation of the local population in fighting the Russkies,
- and many, many others.

a large number of photos inside too!

Very Interesting - Thank you for posting this and the other great material. There will be many fascinating documentaries and action movies, based on this war, in the years ahead.

It looks like Putin is now going full-on, with the Wagner Tactics - throwing waves of untrained, ill-equipped cannon fodder into battle. Ru has moved from recruitment to coercion of imprisioned men to feed it's need for cannon fodder.

Military experts use the adage 'Quantity has a Quality all of it's own' - that's gonna apply now more than ever.

Ua Front line defence is more horrific than ever, evoking scenes from 'The Walking Dead' with hordes of Zombies, in wave after wave of relentless attack.

It's blind panic from Putin - he's aware that the cavalry is on the way and this is the last throw of the dice.

Hopefully Ua can withstand this assault until it's offensive capability is in place. If so, it's going to be a rout later on this year
