Public Transport Spreads Disease

Covid 19 is mutating and regrouping. Ireland is currently in a Respitory Disease Storm according to Dr. Smyth our CMO. Covid will remain, same as Flu etc. etc. More Pandemics are inevitable, Our Government want us to abandon our personal space vehicles in favour of gathering, squeezing in many cases, together in tens to hundreds in metal containers e.g. Buses and Trains.

2 fully electric single deckers are going into service on town service in Athlone over the next few weeks.
Its is envisaged that double deck electric buses will be in the Capwell fleet here within the next 12 months.

Absolutely agree with you, there is an entitled attitude there that has to be addressed

Under the Cloak of Covid Recovery many premises have done a Land Grab. But this thread is about the Health Danger caused by Public Transport.
The notion of Electric Vehicles per se is very questionable. The Battery issue has not been solved since the first Electric Car, 1874. Batteries are not sustainable.
Furthermore where is the Electricity to charge such vehicles going to come from? We are close to Power Cuts as is. How much will it cost?
Why are the Car manufacturers all pushing for Hybrids, while non mechanically minded Politicians are all praying Electric.
