Brilliant. Long Quay back then but the part in the photo at least is now named Pearse Street. At the time of the photo he was just some unknown dubliner son of a british immigrant stonemason.

I see from google maps there's still a small stretch from where the photographer would have stood going east about 40m still called Long Quay albeit with very little water frontage.

You can see from the old technology that there's a crack on the right hand side of the photographic plate too.
Compared to modern life all quiet on that street with the occasional remnants of horse droppings. A very different time.

Check the image to the far left, clothes must have gotten quite dirty.
