Played against Miah years ago out in The Farm in the business league. He was playing center back and I was upfront. We drew 4 all, I scored a hat trick. Ended up working with him for a brief period a few laters later and I'd always wind him up about it. Rip

But he was 72 at the time. Well done m8, take a bow.

I was never a keen follower of League of Ireland football but when I lived in digs in Mercier Park back in the 1980's I used attend the odd game across the road in Turners Cross and a lot of the die-hards conversation referred to Miah. His record speaks for itself, R.I.P. Miah.

My dad took me to the game. Very happy day after the disappointment of The Lodge the previous Sunday.
Four of that Hibs side now passed away. Dave Wiggington, Tony Marsden, Noel O Mahony and Miah. RIP to them all.

Yes jimmy, we know that. But they weren't all from play - one was a spotter and another might have been a free kick - can't remember. Miah's were all from play.

Met him a few times. Pleasant, funny guy. A right "Jack the lad" when he was with Hibs by all accounts. Great player but terrible trainer during his best days.

Joe Grady, John Herrick, Martin Sheehan, John Lawson, Sonny Sweeney, Donie Wallace, Gerry Finnegan,and Carl Davenport are the remaining surviving members of the great Hibs side of the early 1970s afaik.
