Live at the Marquee 24

This article really hits home when you see the lineup for the Marquee next year.

The current climate is great news for landfill acts like The Coronas, who promoters will turn when there's a lack of international acts available.

Pity the music industry, by and large, gave up of promoting quality new music years ago. The chickens are coming home to roost now.

In fact...

Looking at it. I think that nearly every act announced for next year so far has played the Marquee this year.

The Coronas will perform on May 24, while Gavin James takes to the Marquee stage on May 25. Bingo Loco returns on June 1 and One Day presents BLK takes place on June 7, followed by Damien Dempsey on June 8.

Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will be bringing the next chapter in their dance collaboration to Cork on June 14 and Christy Moore will play his 19th year in the Marquee on June 15. Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill will perform on June 21, while the Biggest Disco returns to Cork on June 22.
maybe they sent out the 2023 press release by mistake

Someone posted that in the Musgrave park gigs thread.

No one expects Taylor Swift but even one or two name acts isn't too much to ask. Thats two straight years of shit.

They may as well just pull the plug.

It gets better

Fans of 90s pop meanwhile will enjoy the Biggest Disco featuring appearances by Peter Andre, Basshunter, East 17, Haddaway and Mark McCabe. More shows at Live at The Marquee are set to be announced in the coming weeks.

This is like Aiken is doing some kind of Phoenix Nights pisstake.
There will be the latest small time DJ that all the teens are into, announced too soon. Cue all the orange faced half dressed wans staggering around the marina with naggins of vodka and 18 year old fellas stomping each others heads in.

Utter muck so far with seemingly no thought gone into it. You can catch Gavin James, Coronas, Damien Dempsey, Jenny Greene, Mick Flannery in Cork a few times every year in places like Cyprus Avenue, Live at St. Lukes and Coughlans. Christy was in the Opera House twice this year iirc.
