Junior A Hurling Championship 2024

looking forward to the weekends final now . Killavullen could really take off with this win as another poster commented and move up the grades fast . The break and the use of the all weather pitch in mallow will stand to them but there should be nothing between the sides I would say
Is there an all weather pitch in Mallow?
And they’d hardly let a junior club team onto it this time of the year?

What difference does it make if there a junior team ? There still paying the same money as anyone else does to use the pitch or the lights, stupid comment
Apologies if I Touched a raw nerve. Difference? I didn’t mention any difference.
Nearly all club pitches are closed for the winter. That’s just a fact. Mallow is a different kettle of fish and stays mostly open but gets games like Munster club, post primary schools and pre season inter county games.
I’d be very surprised if it’s pitch was open for other clubs to train on especially this time of the year- again another different kettle of fish

Agreed.
I believe Killavullen are the right age profile and have a good conveyor of talent coming through to go up the grades if they get a bit of luck. They've progressed very well the last 3 years
But this final is huge. I think they'll just about get over the line.
They might sneak it the weekend always a chance in a final but id still fancy Tracton if they were to win I couldn’t see them going up through the grades unless they have a couple of Cork minors on the way, they wouldn’t have the calibre of players Erin’s Own, Lisgoold or even Ballygiblin have it’s their first Avondhu title so I wouldn’t be getting over excited just yet

Looking forward to Saturday hopefully the weather will hold up for it, should be a dog fight against two physical hardy teams. If tracton play the way they did against ballinora in the 2nd half theyll win this game handy i think, but if they don’t show up or get overly confident you can be sure killavullen will capitalise on it and they definitely won’t go down easy. But in my opinion I don’t think either teams have the quality to climb up through the grades at the moment like previous junior A winners.

Really looking forward to the game this weekend and great to hear that it will be streamed live. I fancy Tracton. Dangerous forwards and have plenty fine hurlers around the field. Killavullen were full value for their win over killeagh in the semi final I hear. From the match report, harnedy didn’t get a sniff up front so they must have a stingy defence.

Either team would want to get out of the grade now, some good young strong teams to come through over the next few years. Kilshannig, Donoughmore and Carrignavar have strong teams as is and boat loads of young fellas to come through.

Hopefully this weekend lives up to all the hype.
